P90X Nutrition Tips

Looking for P90X Nutrition Tips? You have come to the right place then because from someone who has done the program 2 times, once following the nutrition guide and the other not, I can tell you nutrition makes all the difference in the world.

We all know that nutrition is so vitaly important to any fitness program but most times we neglect to really watch what we put in our mouth. For whatever, reason people assume that since they are working out, they do not need to monitor their nutritional habits. 85% of our results from any fitness program is directly related to our nutrition.

P90X is a great program and can deliver amazing results but if you aren't watching what you eat, following the nutrition guide, and taking some of the following P90X nutrition tips to heart, you won't get the ripped results you are looking for, period!

Here are a few P90X nutrition tips I found to be helpful while following the program.

  1. GET A FREE Beachbody/P90X Account. If you do not have an account, sign up for one here. An account will give you access to not only the P90X Fitness Guide but also access to an excel spreadsheet and workout sheets you can use to track your progress. This is very helpful especially for those of you who have an illegal copy (that doesn't include fitness/nutrition guides), you have lost your originals, or borrowed from a friend and aren't sure where to start.

  2. Drink ALOT of water to stay hydrated and to help your body eliminate toxins and waste build up that can often come with a new fitness routine. It can help reduce soreness as well so make sure that you drink a minimum of 8-10 (8oz) glasses of water each day, if not more with this demanding workout program.
  3. Keep a daily food log to help you stay on track. If you try to remember all of what you have eaten each day you can easily lose track of your portions and calories. Download our P90X Excel spreadsheet by creating a Beachbody account or get a mobile app that will help you stay on track.
     
  4. Use the meal plan approach if you have time and enjoy to cook meals. I found that following this portion of the P90X nutrition guide was WAY too tedious for me. I used the portion approach to the nutrition guide as you can pick and chose foods from each category (fruits, vegetables, daily, etc) and if you have time to cook, you can still make a great meal using this approach. For those of you on the go a lot, the portion approach is much easier and time sensitive than the meal approach.

  5. Calculate which Phase of the nutrition guide you need to follow based on your age, sex, and activity level, etc. This is key so that you know exactly how many calories and servings you need on a daily basis to produce results. If you find yourself too full or starving then you need to make some adjustments (adding or subtracting) to your meal plan. Also pay close attention to your progress. Adjust your nutritional needs accordingly.

  6. Use the P90X supplements highlighted and recommended in your nutrition guide. There are not only there to sell you a product but to help you reach your fitness goals faster. These include:
